Consequences
Luke scoweled into his glass, trying to forget what he'd been through in the last two days. His actions had saved lives, and yet he'd been charged with insubordination and suspended from active service with the army for two years. It wasn't supposed to be like this. Noone ever intends for these kinds of things to happen, they just do. I think I might have been normal once, but the memories have all but faded completely, like a story someone told you a long time ago when you were only half listening. Whatever I once was, I suppose all that matters now is who I am. I won't deny that I am a monster, that for months and even years since all this started I thought nothing of what I'd done, but when I was finally faced with myself I tried to overcome that.
